Default "No Disc in Drive?!"

I have a BWU-100A blu-ray drive on my pC. Every once-in-a-while, i get the error message from PowerDVD "No Disc in Drive" This will happen to any blu-ray disc. Plays any non-blu disc just fine. This irritates me because the problem comes and goes.

I thought at first the problem may be PowerDVD, 'cause it's prone to stupid no-reason errors. Last night though, went through "My Computer" via windows only to realize that windows did not recognize that there was a disc in the drive. I tried to find a firmware update for the drive, but i get linked to a sony-site that displays "page no longer available" or something like that.

Any ideas, anyone?

Try uninstalling the drive in Windows and reinstalling the driver/firmware for it if you can't find new firmware. If it's still having issues, you may have a bad drive/laser that isn't able to recognize BD discs properly.

Also, update to the newest version of PowerDVD.
