Default Regarding Barnes & Noble and Borders

Just out of curiosity, why are the Blu-ray movie prices at Barnes & Noble and Borders so ridiculously expensive compared to all the other retailers including online retailers? I walked in today at my local Barnes & Noble and noticed most of their Blu-ray movies were selling roughly between $29.99 - $39.99 and that is without the 10% member discount which amounts to nothing anyways. The most I have ever paid for a single Blu-ray movie (excluding box sets or TV series sets) was around $25.00. Can someone explain to me why their prices are so expensive?

They usually charge MSRP, similar to stores like FYE.

They charge those prices because apparently they can get it from the uninformed people.

This is the truth, I'm a manager for B and N, and the bottom line is it's not our niche, so what we can sell, we get the most value on. It's the same as mall stores and what not, built for simplicity and ease of pick up, not value. We know we aren't trying to be competitive, so you pick up the profit where you can.

That said, yes, the prices make me cringe when I sell them to people.
