Default Help with wireless home network?

Hoping someone can help me with this question. I currently use a Linksys WRT300N to run my home network. It supplies my laptop, Xbox 360 and Ipod touch with wi-fi.

Is there a device/router? that I can use to connect wirelessly to the Linksys and then plug in my Blu Ray player and TV? I'd like to take advantage of my Viera Cast and Blu Ray Live functions, but moving the router to the TV/BD is not really an easy fix. I'd much rather find something that can connect to the existing network...and then plug into that for the two.

Just don't know all that much about wireless capabilities. Can I simply buy another wireless router?

You will need a wireless bridge for the Linksys router...or get one that also include a bridge.

Just something to stare you in the right direction.

Ah ok. I think I'll look for one with at least 2 ports. I wonder if my xbox would have a better connection if I plugged into one of those rather than using the wireless adapter? Thanks I'll start reading some reviews.

Does it have more than one port to plug in to?

This looks like something that would work.

Rule of thumb, Links router use the same brand bridge...you might run into compatibility issues.

I would prefer that too but I didn't see one with more than one port for Linksys.

I might have found one with N capability but it's pricey. Would G connection work for Viera Cast and Blu Ray Live stuff? Probably I think.

Just add a 4- or 8-port switch. Then plug the switch into the wireless bridge.

Wireless-G will work just fine. The bottleneck or slowdowns will come from your internet connection coming into the house rather than your internal network, unless of course you're really far away from the router. In the scenario where you're far away from the router, then you would want to go with wireless-N.

I'm not sure what your house's setup is like, but I always recommend wired connections whenever possible, especially in the case where you'll be moving data up and down at all times, as when you are playing games online, streaming audio/video from the internet, etc.
