OK guys, with your advice I decided to do it & just clicked "submit" on the newegg site. Everything is ordered! Limited $ is causing me to wait 1-2 weeks for the BD drive but at least I can get it up and running before that. Also gives me time to decide if I should pony up the extra $ for a burner.

Here's what was ordered. Anything look too out of wack?



This will be my 1st PC build from scratch so I'll probably be looking to you guys for help - and it will be greatly appreciated. And hopefully we'll be able to provide info for anyone else looking to take the plunge.

Do you have an old cd/dvd drive to put in the machine. If not then you won't be able to install and operating system.

Why pony extra money for a power supply with core i7 (intel) support when you have an amd motherboard and cpu? Could have purhcased a 600-700 watt power suplpy for that money without the need for getitng something for an i7 core power supply. Unless u plan on upgrading in the future.

ALos i didn't go out and look at the new egg website but because the motherboard lists hdmi in its specs then i would assume the motherboard has build in graphics card on it. Those usually cost a little more. But also noted you ordered a graphics card. Could have saved a little money by getting a motherboard without video chip on it, or jsut stuck to the on board video and waited to see if you needed the graphics card or not. All kind of depends on how intense your graphics needs would be.

i jsut doublechecked the newegg website and i guess hte motherboard u were looking at was the best price for what you got regardless of if it had on board video or not. So i take that comment back.
