Default Sony Has Screwed Us All Over With Their Damn Blu-ray Players!!!

OK I am kind of pissed off right now because I called sony to see when the next update will be for the BDPS300/BDPS301 and guess what they dont know. They said there is no information on a future update.

SO GUESS WHAT EVERYONE IT LOOKS LIKE YOU WONT BE PLAYING IRON MAN ON YOUR BLURAY PLAYER!!!!

This really pisses me off and it better not happen when the Dark Knight comes out.

Oh man that stinks.

The PS3 is still the safest bet for compatability...

It will work, just settle down.

Thats why people get the PS3 because its future-proof regardless if they're a gamer or not.

Can we not turn this into a "let's rub it in that he doesn't have a ps3" thread?!

OP, deep breath. The title's not even officially released yet. I read in another thread that some reviewers got a replacement copy. It's possible that your will work fine. If not, I have no doubt that Sony will be quick to fix the issue. It's a little early to be jumping the gun on the issue.

CALM DOWN!!!!

Of course their customer service doesn't know when they are going to solve a disc issue with a disc that has yet to be released. There should be an update in time for the official release date of the disc. Then you can do this

The tech's NEVER know when an update will occur (atleast not the ones answering phones). Leaks don't occur at that level, they occur to the press. relax. As was said earlier, the title isn't even out, you don't know what, if any, problems might occur with your player. There is enough going on out there to get your blood pressure up, don't let this get to you.

Maybe they are waiting for the movie to officially be released. Which is next week. Technically you shouldn't have that movie yet.

So everyone's advice for this person is just reach in their pocket to find $400 and run out and get a PS3? that's helpful.

Sony has been very good with their updates. I'm sure they'll have one soon.

Dude, it's called firmware. It'll be updated, just chill for a bit. Your player is not obsolete. In fact Sony has been pretty on the ball as far as releasing firmware updates, and making them readily available by download. If that doesn't work, they will also mail you a free disc with the update.

I'd say that's pretty good service.

it wouldn't be a problem with the disc if people have successfully viewed iron man on blu already, while others with the op's blu-ray player are having the same problem

I would atleast give them until next week for the official release date for the disc before reaching for the panic button.

Disc comes out next week. Forget morgage crisis, finacial collapses, or any $20 increases in oil.

The real issue is whether a blu-ray disc will play in a player next week.

You forgot about all the starving children that may not be able to watch Iron Man.

Well good because he has 7 days to wait before the street date. When god (lower case "g") has to start killing kittens.
