Default AMAZON Trying to force people to get Prime?

I brought a movie Sleeping Beauty second hand on Monday and it has arrived. That same day i brought WALL-E (3-disc) New and it's still in transit what gives? I mean come on Amazon...if i get WALL-E on Monday i am never buying anything new form Amazon again.

When you buy second hand isn't that by an independent seller? I give kudos to the seller for getting it out so fast.

If it's in transit, how much control do you really expect Amazon to have? They are not the shipping provider. Also, what shipping method did you use? I'm assuming you did not pay for 2 day shipping, so why would you expect it to come before Friday when the next available option is standard shipping? Not to mention Wall-E was a pre-order and not released until Tuesday anyway, so you shouldn't have counted on it shipping before then.

If you chose standard shipping sometimes it takes up to 5 business days after the item is shipped (keeping in mind Wall-E was released on Tuesday), and Amazon is very clear about this. Plus you can always see the estimated arrival/ship date *before* you place the order.

Quit whining. If you want things quicker, pay for faster shipping. You do not need to be a Prime member to do this.

Amazon shipping has gotten consistently slower, and I'm not talking about transit time, I'm talking about how long it takes before the order is even shipped. I deal with it on most titles though because usually the price is right. For releases like Wall-E though, I just spent the extra money and got it in a store locally.

That's why Amazon Prime is the best! It basically pays for itself!!

I have noticed that when I switch between "free" shipping and "standard shipping" the shipping date (from Amazon) is always delayed a few extra days . I have noticed this on several orders. IMO they sit on "free" shipping orders for a few days to make sure that the delivery time is pushed-out. Once USPS gets thier hands on it, the actual shipping time is the same, usually just two or three days.

Prime or not, I'm not sure why this dude is still so angry. Wall-E was released on Tuesday. So let's assume they shipped it on Tuesday with standard shipping (cause it doesn't sound like he's the type to spring for 2-day).

The *earliest* he would have received it would be today, so I think it's just a matter of impatience and cheap-ness. Don't blame Amazon if you didn't pay for quicker shipping, cause it ain't free for them!

That's not really an opinion, that's exactly what Amazon explains to you when you choose that option - it's specifically designed for people who don't care about delivery dates. That's why it's free...

Even without prime, I've had stuff "sit" at a location in transit, so I don't think its Amazons fault. Talk to USPS, UPS, or FedEx if that's the case. They aren't going to deliver it any faster than they have to because it costs those companies money rushing it to you.

Agreed, but they did not use to do this. Free was shipped as soon as "not free," which implied that they would use a faster shipping method if you paid for shipping. Do not get me wrong, I understand what they are doing (and why), but it took me awhile to realize they had changed their methods. I almost always use free, because like you said, I don't care when I receive the product; if I do then I go with Plan "B."

Another example of someone not reading the fine print and then getting hostile and whining.
Free is free for a reason.
Not only that when you buy used it is not shipped from amazon.
I love my Amazon Prime and as many have said it really does pay for itself.
Also the choices for shipping are not Free or Prime only.
You can always pay a couple of dollars to speed your shipping up.

About you Amazon Prime lovers yeah i really want to pay $79 a year for that. You know how much Movies one can buy for $79! I am taking the independent seller route the next time. I could have gotten it at Bestbuy if i knew this would be the case.

You know how much that saves me on shipping costs, since I order a lot of products? (you can use Prime for other stuff, too, not just DVDs).

Again, you seem to be stuck thinking that if you don't have Prime, you can't get fast shipping. This is not the case, just pay for 2-day shipping when you check out if you absolutely need it in 2-days.

I have prime now, but probably won't renew. I find myself buying from them less than before.
