Default Ok. It's official. My remote terrifies me.

So I've recently had 4 remotes on my coffee table - TV, DVD player, PS3, and the Marantz. I've been told a few times, "JJ, get a universal remote!" - so I began looking into getting one. I've never owned nor never researched universal remotes at all whatsoever. Then, bored, I began looking at the remote for my Marantz receiver - and lo and behold, it is a universal one after I read the manual.

So I began reading the manual as far as the universal remote. It has a "Learn" function. Knowing nothing of remotes, I set it up like it said. Two inches from the IR transmitter of the other remotes.

Bam! The marantz absorbs any and all functions of the other remotes. Sure, it won't do the Bluetooth of the PS3, but good god! This was frightening to me, now I can dwindle down to 2 remotes in a cinch!!

But I'm terrified of it now! I'm afraid it'll absorb me when I sleep.

Skynet = Marantz remote

I'm in the same boat as you - minus the LSD usage.

The remote for my recently acquired Pio Elite 92 is pretty intimidating - and is a learning remote too. I haven't yet tried to tame it.

I like to set all 5 of my remotes around me, this way I feel important when watching a movie/tv.

I just taught it all the TV/DVD player functions, properly labeled, in about 10 minutes. I am terrified right now. Arush, you are right. Enough with the hallucinogens.

When it achieves sentience and starts saying to me, "I can't let you do that, JJ." ...then I'll be worried.

Classic!

I've always wanted a universal remote, but I require Bluetooth compatibility!

My Sony STR-DG920 remote took no programming, my BDP and TV are manufacturer matched...

Now if I could get it to bring up my DVR guide, I could cut it down to one remote....

I'm down to one remote, a fantastic Harmony 1000. And if that remote gets even better, it will be down to 0

I think it and it turns on and off.

I have a Panny plasma and a Blu-ray player. Good ol' HDAVI link......but it doesn't work flawlessly with the Pioneer receiver

My DVR will change channels, pause, rewind, and fast forward on my Sony remote. I just can't get a guide...

Everything else is flawless.

Just get the IR2BT converter. It plugs into any active USB port and turns IR commands into blue tooth.

Newbie here.
Working on my new hometheater setup. Sony XBR6 with PS3 etc.
I'm new to PS3 and want to use a RF remote system to work with the PS3 Bluetooth. Is there a converter of some sort that will allow me to use the RF remote with the PS3? If so, how much and where can I get it?
Thanks!
