I've heard nothing but good things for the most part when it comes to the BP series. I know a lot of people like the built in subs, but I don't think the particular model you mentioned has them. One of the perks is these output a lot of a sound by their design, but one of the few complaints (if you could call it that?) is that the imaging isn't the most accurate due to the bipolar design. I'd give them a listen though and find out for yourself.

It's alright to ask questions; just not alright to create multiple threads on the same thing over and over again to get them. They're all merged now so don't worry about it.

Do you have a set budget? We may be able to put in perspective the value of the speakers compared to others in the same price range, although I'm about ready to hit the hay.

these speakers retail around $800 and i can get them for around $300 so that's well in my range ... but i'm looking around the 800 mark for just the towers... and if i can save the 500 and invest into a velodyne sub i'd rather do that

Here are some reviews. I don't think you could go wrong with them. As for a sub, look at the eD sub in my sig below. I'm sure it'll be up there with the Velodyne.

I think these are excellent speakers. I'm happy with the sound, both from Blu-ray and from CDs. The sound is wide, open and full but you still need to venture out to a store to listen for yourself. I purchased my BP6Bs from Abt, see below. Note that the price of $799 is for a pair of speakers. http://www.abt.com/product/14356.html The BP6B speakers do not feature a built-in sub-woofer; you should purchase one. I have a Hsu Research sub-woofer which fits in well with my Def Techs, although Definitive Technology also manufactures well received models.

The bp7006 is about $1300 a pair at Abt. It features a 1" Dome Tweeter and an 8" Active Subwoofer Driver. Naturally it will sound better than the Bp6B because it's the bigger brother. Good hunting, pal. http://www.abt.com/product/15106.html

I bought a pair of BP7006s last February for $1100. They are excellent.

Here is what got me thinking I just got a supercube I. Do I need the extra subwoofers on the 7006 or would the bp6 be fine?

Fan of the Mythos line, don't know much about the BPs. Got 4 Mythos Gems and a Mythos 3 center for under $900 over the summer, from various retailers, dealers, other outfits. Actually started a thread earlier this week looking for info on the Mythos Nine reviewed in the Jan. '09 issue of Sound and Vision.
