DC Universe Online Update - Story Written by Geoff Johns

Didn't see this here, so I figured I'd share.

The info is being reported over at www.newsarama.com and www.comicbookresources.com, but it's been revealed that not only has Jim Lee (a very famous comic book artist) been overseeing all the art of DCUO, but Geoff Johns did the "showrunning" (for lack of a better word) for the initial "Secret Origins"-ish story arc of the game.

For those who aren't comic book fans, Geoff Johns is a very well known DC comics writer who has done some huge critically acclaimed stories and revamps of characters.

Adding Johns to the mix means that you can be pretty sure the game is going to track very closely to the regular DCU and that the story in game is going to rock.

I'd encourage every PS3 player to keep an eye on this one - based on what's been seen so far and the talent involved, it could be big!

(For those who say "I refuse to pay MMO fees on a console", Sony seems to be aware of that and has not released a pricing model. My guess [just a guess] is that we may see micro-transactions for new powers/costume pieces and warhawk-style expansions, but Sony is looking at how to get this on the PS3 while dealing with monthly fee concerns.)
