How to register BD remote to another PS3? - Blu-ray Forum

I just got another PS3 and would like to register the official sony BD PS3 remote to it but I'm kind of confused. I tried unregistering it on the original PS3 by holding start and enter but nothing happened. I held it for like a full minute.

I then tried registering it on the new PS3 with the same method but nothing happens. I did both under the "register BD device" option in the menu.

I wonder what I'm doing wrong. I can't unregister the BD remote at all.

Have you tried turn off the switch of the PS3 the remote is currently registered to, and then register it with the new PS3?

^Just tried that. Nothing. I tried turning off the "new" PS3 to see if I could unregister the remote from the old one. Nothing happens when I hold "start and enter" like it tells me to. I'm holding it for about 20-40 seconds. Is that long enough?

1) Turn off the PS3 that you want to de-register.
2) Take out the batteries from the remote.
3) Turn on the PS3 that you want to register.
4) Put the batteries back on.
5) Try registering the remote on the PS3.

See if that works. It might also help to be within the vicinity of the PS3 to register it.
