Default Why do some movies take too long to load?

Why do some Blu-ray movies, such as Pinocchio, take a long time to load? Sometimes it takes 1 minute or 2 before it loads the main menu or before it starts to play the feature. Is it inherent with some movies or is there something wrong with my laptop? I have BC-5500A drive with latest firmware from Optiarc and PowerDVD Ultra and WinDVD BD. Both software have the latest patches. Is there anything I could do to speed it up?

Maybe because your BD player sucks.

It might have to do with the BD-Java that Pinocchio has. I'm not certain what the usual wait time is for that movie to load up.

It's because it's loading off the disc. Some players are faster than others...the fastest being the hard drive. One click and the movie starts instantly. No trailers or menus to deal with.

I have this issue with The Haunting in Connecticut - no matter what BD player I watch the film on. It takes like 4 f*cking minutes to load. No other disc is even half that time. I guess it was a warning that was saying, "this movie sucks! take it out now! last warning! last warning!" too bad i didn't listen to it.

Default Disney matter

Don't worry !

All Disney BD's are loading slower, no matter in what BD player are played, and what latest update you have. With all due respect, even in the McGarnigal's PS3 world, Disney movies will load slower.

That is mostly because Disney is very nasty on anti-pirating encryption codecs which the player has to process in order to show you something. Every pack of codecs, one Neuschwanstein logo castle. Count how many Disney logo castles you have to see before you start to watch something.

Basically true however, when a popular new release wants a BD-Live upgrade and every player in the world is competing for that (worthless IMO) data then you could get a glimpse of that type of experience.

I remember Transformers taking at least a little while to load when I bought it.
