I recently purchased an Onkyo TX-SR706 & TX-SA706 A/V Receiver/Amplifier along with the Panasonic DMP-BD55 Blue ray player. Problem I have along with the fact that there are too many choices and settings available to watch a movie is I watched 'The Mist' in Blue ray and I got this echo in the sound. I eventually got rid of it, but with all the buttons and selections I pushed and went through, I got no clue how I did it. I used that Audessey speaker set up.
Any body ever experience this and tell me how I got rid of it??? or what causes it. Thanks Andy |

Hi All
Great forum Here, you all should be proud. I recently purchased an Onkyo TX-SR706 & TX-SA706 A/V Receiver/Amplifier along with the Panasonic DMP-BD55 Blue ray player. Problem I have along with the fact that there are too many choices and settings available to watch a movie. I watched 'The Mist' in Blue ray and I got this echo in the sound. I eventually got rid of it, but with all the buttons and selections I pushed and went through, I got no clue how I did it. I used that Audessey speaker set up when setting up the speakers. The Speakers are an Onkyo 7.1 system also. Any body ever experience this and tell me how I got rid of it??? or what causes it. Boy I screwed up, got a duplicate of this, Sorry Thanks Andy Last edited by a1190w; 11-24-2008 at 05:31 PM. |

Oh Gawd ... what the hell is DSP.... Bear with me guys...this is all so new to a retiree tryin to live the dream except for all this tech stuff... I will learn.
TV Spkrs are off... A/V sync is set to 0 ms. Think though I may have found a clue in these Multi-channel cabels though. Had them hooked up and was totally upset with the result... extremely low volume. ( I like to have it blow me out of the house). I took them out , Yup HDMI audio was set to off.. Think these may have been the reason for the echo as after I took them out, DMI audio is on, NO Echo.....What advantage is multichannel anyway, seems I you can hardly hear it, even at full volume. If you're referring to multi-channel analog audio, there's plenty good with it.
If you can't hear it very well, something isn't set up properly. Of course you're going to want to use HDMI for your multi-channel audio so it's a moot point, but I had no problems using multi-channel analog inputs from a Pioneer Elite DV-45a to Pioneer VSX-1014TX for Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio discs. |
