I have a dvd recorder plays dvd movies fine
new Laptop bluray drive probloms
Not just me
Is it the software to blame?
I have win dvd and will be getting power dvd to be sure when i spend £24 on a movie

Brand of laptop?
WinDVD - ? Version? Branded?

The WinDVD BD For VAIO will play many older discs fine, some of the newer discs will play the previews and choke on the main movie

Best course is to get PowerDVD 8 Ultra, AcrSoft TotalMedia Theatre, or WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray(Corel).

The WinDVD BD For VAIO - probably not.
WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray(Corel) will play it - but no BD-Live.

Yes! PowerDVD 8 Ultra will play it fine! BD-Live too!
