I have been looking a bit here. It seems that the BD-J can actually be used for a lot of different things.
I could very well imagine applications like Joost or YouTube have a BD-J client. That would give you access to (the selected) videoes or channels right on your HD TV (through your Blu-ray player). And there is not really a reason to stop there. Once you have the internet access only your imagination holds you back, - just look at the plugins for HTPC like systems (weater, e-mail, news, a and zillion other things I can't even remember...) Have I misunderstood something, - or is this correctly? |
