Good news! It's may not be on the level of Godard's seminal masterpiece, but it's an interesting and entertaining film in its own right. I'll certainly be picking it up.

Maybe because it stars the beautiful Valerie Kaprisky. I'll find out how much I like it when I watch it sometime soon, I just recorded it on the DVR late last night.

Never seen it, but I know Quentin Tarantino is a big fan of the movie. I'll definitely check it out on Blu.

I noticed the review is up, wow Jeffrey Kauffman must really not have liked this film much, his review is, uncharacteristically, the very definition of brevity and only 7 screencaps!

I love the Jean-Luc Godard original, and was even fortunate to see it on the big screen at a theatrical showing a few months back.

Curiosity got the best out of me today, though, so I bought this remake at a Movie Stop. I love all things 1980s, so I'm pretty sure that I'll get a kick out of it.

Not in the way their collector's editions do with different poster art and back cover. This one just has one photo printed on the back like most of their regular non-collectors editions do (it's a shot from the pool scene).

I just finished watching this Shout Factory Blu-ray of Breathless, and I had fun.

This remake is nothing on the 1960 original film directed by Jean-Luc Godard, but it's still plenty engaging. The soundtrack is the film's greatest asset, with the Jerry Lee Lewis song, "Breathless", featured prominently in both its original form and in the amazing cover version by the Los Angeles punk band, X. Richard Gere is a trip to watch as he tries to fill in for Jean-Paul Belmondo's role in the Godard film. Valérie Kaprisky is quite magnetic in her role, and I did not mind the nude scenes at all.

The Blu-ray looks good, and it seems to be a decent transfer of a 1980s film, given the style of most flicks made during that time period. The soundtrack comes across well on the audio front, and all of the dialogue is clear.

I watched that BLU a couple weeks ago myself. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I just didnt care for Gere singing the song much esp later in the film for me it ruined it. Was shocked at the Gere frontal scenes though. I was not expecting that.

Did you think the audio you hear during song Pretenders song during the chase scene sound really rough and shrill? It seemed off and probably always like that but the recording should have never sounded that bad.
