Today I downloaded a 720p HD quality Windows Media Video (WMV) file from a movie trailer link posted on Rotten Tomatoes. The clip is the new 2nd trailer for Iron Man.
The clip plays well on both my office desktop computer and notebook computer at home. I loaded the video into my 80GB PS3. It plays the video just fine (although the bit rate for it is pretty low -just 6.5Mb/s). The problem is there's no audio. Kinda strange. Even more strange, the new trailer is lacking the audio. But I get a full motion thumbnail preview of the video in my list of downloaded video files. All the movie trailers and other clips I've downloaded from Playstation Network just give me the little film strip icon. Anyone else had this problem playing WMV files? I think support for this format in PS3 is fairly new. Wasn't it just added in the last firmware update? I'm wondering if there could be some sort of issue. |
