this is what I currently have:
![]() Sony 3.1 Surround-Bar with a subwoofer as you can see, nothing too spectacular, but it's sufficient for my relatively modest condo. I notice that when I have the preset on Movie or Games, I get Dolby Pro-Logic II and the sound is noticeably better. However, is it possible to get something even richer sounding out of this thing? I also own the older model Blu-Ray Samsung 1400 player, and I have a 46 inch Sony BRAVIA LCD. Help is appreciated. |

well right now I just have a digital coaxal going from the sub to the TV. I noticed it has one HDMI out port, but my Blu-Ray only has an out as well, no in's. I guess what I'm asking is, is Dolby PLII the best I can get out of it? If any of you techies wanna take a look at the specs here's the link:

It says it has 3 hdmi inputs, but doesn't specify whether those are video only or do audio as well. A couple of the reviews I scanned through seem to indicate they do audio though. If that is the case, you want to plug your blu-rays hdmi out into the Sony, and then run the Sony hdmi out to your tv.

ok now the Samsung player only has one HDMI port and its an out. I have two HDMI cables. If I run one HDMI cable from the BD In (on the Sony) into the Samsung out for audio purposes, will I still be able to run the second HDMI cable from the Sony into the TV for HD picture?

Right. BD player HDMI output to one the sound sytem's hdmi inputs. Then run an HDMI from the sound system's hdmi output to the hdmi input on your tv. Then you want to make sure that your blu-ray player is outputting audio via PCM rather than bitstream. |
