What are the best settings on the PSW10 sub with a Onkyo 605 for the 2 scenarios?
1) Using a single cable into the Line In (Left or Right - No LFE on this sub) on the sub from the subwoofer out on the 605: A - Set to Fullband (this is Large on the 605) or not? B - If not, what hz should be set on the crossovers for the sub with Polks T90e's and center CS10? 2) Using the Y splitter into the L and R Line In (No LFE on this sub) on the sub from the subwoofer out on the 605? A - Set to Fullband (this is Large on the 605) or not? B - If not, what hz should be set on the crossovers for the sub with Polks T90e's and center CS10? It could be the same settings for both for all I know, but I wanted to ask to make sure. Any help is greatly appreciated! Last edited by Fors*; 03-09-2009 at 01:31 PM. |

Y cord in and set the x over at 120 on the sub and the receiver. Then set the x over for your fronts at 80.
If it gets to much voice bleed roll the x over to 100 on the receiver. This is what works best for my set up, which is pretty close to what you have. |

There's some specific instructions for this in the manual.

Does your receiver have audessey to make the x-over settings for you? I have this sub on order and have audessey on my receiver. I will run audessey after hooking it up and report back the x-over setting. I am willing to bet it will be around 100Hz? Quote:

The receiver does have Audessey, but I have read numerous posts within a sticky in the Receiver Forum about how audessey tries to "force" certain settings that should no longer be used. I tend to agree because having run audessey previously, it simply did not sound right to me based on my room configuration. So, I was trying to get a consensus of what others might have their crossovers at. I bet you are right about the 100 hz though. Thanks for the info! |

i have my crossover on the back of the sub turned to it's highest point. I then have the crossover in the onkyo 605 set to 120hz for my sub, my fronts, center and surrounds are all 80hz and it sounds excellent. now you will have to tweak it for your environment but those settings should be a good starting point for you.
