Deal from Blockbuster Canada...

From Nov.11-Nov.24, 2008, PAN'S LABYRINTH will be on sale for $9.99. The deal indicates that it is limited quantities, while quantities last. (10 per store).

Not a bad deal IMO !

Yes Sir ! I was surprised too, deals like this for "very good" movies don't often come north of the border...

I will try to find a link to post... just have paper copy right now.

LOL, I was just about to post this deal. The B-Buster I frequent says the same deal will be on the following week but with The Golden Compass.

Thanks for the tip odin24! I almost bought this a few days ago, but picked up another concert BD instead (ZZ TOP: Live in Texas).

My Blockbuster is across the road, so I'll be going there today and try and find out more. I did a search, but could not come up with the 2 deals mentioned in this thread.

Do you have a link you could provide?

Hopefully the manager will let me reserve a copy, although I doubt he will. But hey, I won't know for sure unless I ask, right? LOL

If you really want it, might let you purchase it at midnight (Monday/Tuesday). We have a store in Windsor that stays open until 12:30am on release day for this very purpose.

EDIT: Another way to guarantee you get a copy is buy one now, keep it unopened then get some money back, or credit on your account on Tuesday.

Just came back from my Blockbuster and this is what I found out regarding the Pan's Labyrinth BD for $9.99.

1. Copies will be available on the 10th, not the 11th! Manager showed me an internal document that listed this for Monday the 10th.

2. Call first thing Monday morning (if you can't be there) and they'll reserve a copy for you for same-day pick-up.

3. My store says they will have 16 copies...not 10 as advertised.

5. GOLDEN COMPASS will get the same treatment in December.

they have this same deal in alberta. Only problem is from all the stores in my city combined blockbuster could only supply 2 copies. And I got one of them. But I need to find a copy for my brother. Does anyone know if they will be getting more copies in on the 11th, or how long this deal lasts?

At my local store the price goes up to $14.99 tomorrow. The Golden Compass goes down to $14.99 as well.

Thanks for the tip about it starting today! Just went to BlockBuster (Yonge & Sheppard, Toronto) and got a copy for $9.99. Originally I was planning to go tomorrow with the expectation that they'd be sold out.

The first store I went to today (Sackville, NS) had 15 copies of it on the shelf. I bought one for me and one for a gift. Maybe you guys will get more later.
