Default Anybody Suffer From Sleep Paralysis?

I hate this when it happens, scariest thing ever.

Had a very strange one last night, I woke up and I was facing the wall against my bed. Couldn't be more than 1 or 2 inches a way from it, so I couldn't see anything but the wall.

However, I could hear something in my room and it kept stroking my side (note: i was completely alone, nobody was sleeping with me).

Usually I can see (halucinate) some sort of being and thats scary too, but this one in particular freaked me out, because I couldn't even see the thing, Usually if something touches me during one of these episodes it feels like a pressing feeling or a shock and I immediately come to IRL, but the stroking wouldn't let me come to and it was just really creepy and freaked the living crap out of me.

It has happened to me quite a few times. I've never seen things, but I do hear things. Usually I hear someone moving in the room, The first time it happened I heard a crash and woke up and couldn't move. Couldn't have lasted for more than a few seconds but thinking someone is tearing through my house and not be able to get up really freaked me out. When I could move I spent a good hour checking doors and closets because I "knew" someone was there. Now when it happens I'm freaked for a few seconds, but I've kinda gotten used to it and can usually go right back to sleep.

This happens alot to filipinos and we have a specifi name for it but I can't remember it.

It would happen alot to me in high school. I'd be 100% awake but couldn't open my eyes or move. It's horrific. It doesn't happen anymore though.

I would usually break out by focusing on one specific body part, like my toe, and try to move it. That would usually jolt me.

ill add the part that is really freaking me out today is the fact that the TV was not on when I went to sleep, it was not on during the sleep paralysis episode, but it was on when i woke up.

i can't figure how the tv got on.

Not saying it rudely, but are you taking any kind of drugs for any purpose? Recreational or otherwise?

Maybe you do have but have not realized it yet.
Wonder if the ghost stroking you is male or female heheehe.

Edit: Imagine the ghost in bed scene from scary movie 2.

maybe the alien meds wore off too soon as they were returning you from their spaceship to your bed...

no, i seriously did used to think i was an abductee. whats a teenager supposed to think when they wake up and there are these beings in the room and they see all this stuff on tv about alien abductions and they have eeirly similar experiences.

i recently found out in the past couple years what sleep paralysis was. basically i awake during REM when my body is paralysed (we do this, so we don't actually live out our dreams), however i am still continuing to dream, due to the fact that my brain is still in REM.

very weird, because you can see and hear things IRL, but you place dream like things in those surroundings. if you ever have one it will freak you out like nothing else, especially the first time.

Perhaps you're body are starting to reject the matrix, or it could be a glitch.

Have you ever recorded these things? youtube?

I've had sleep paralysis occur aswell - my wife has been around when it's happened and she stated that I usually stop breathing... I wake up, but can't open my eyes or move and feel like I'm suffocationg, usually goes away in 20 or 30 seconds - hasn't happened to me for a couple of years... a medical practicioner I saw said that its usually caused by a lack of potasium... if you lack potasium, your nerves can't fire - the potassium balance is temporarily thrown off, that's why a person usually can't move or breath during one of these episodes... anyways, she told me to take multivitamin and eat a bannana daily and it should go away - which I do and haven't had an episode since

Nice to know I have such a good doctor. He told me if it became a problem he could prescribe Ritalin. It doesn't really adversely affect me, only happens once or twice a month but I may try that banana Rx and see what that does for me.

It happens to me several time a year. Especially if I sleep on my back. Pretty wild, isn't it? Never fails to freak out my wife.
