Yes. Simon Baker in The Mentalist. The smartest character on TV. The best show this year. Not even close.

Actually they would not be in the same category. Maybe they would, not sure.

I would think he would show up as "Supporting Actor", although he is a main character, so.... *shrugs*

He is absolutely fantastic though. Was never a fan of his, and I don't know if I've ever seen any movies he's been in except MAYBE one or two.

But he's just blown me away (no innuendo please) this year on Dexter.

If we're talking Best Supporting Actor, then Walton Goggins (The Shield) deserves at least a nomination after this past season. And of course Michael Emerson (Lost) is consistently fantastic. I have yet to see Jimmy Smits on Dexter, but he's always been a solid actor as well.

I like House, but he's essentially the same every year, with little fluctuation.

And his "act" tends to get a bit stale as he just seems to revel in pissing everyone around him off.

It's almost gotten to the point where it's hard to even watch him without turning him off.

btw...why don't we have a Dexter thread...tonight's episode deserves a thread of its own...the suspense...its intoxicating...I've watch the other 2 seasons straight through...watching it week to week is just like a big tease...I want it all...damn this good show...
