Default (SPOILERS) Something that bothered me about Changeling..

Do NOT continue reading if you haven't seen the movie!

Just saw the movie tonight, and I definitely think it deserves at least a best picture and actress nomination.

That aside, and for anyone who has seen it, one thing that bothered me was that based on one of the kids' stories who escaped, Walter helped free him, but the kid didn't know whether or not he got away. But didn't the 15 year old helping the child murderer get in the car with him to go after the 3 kids (including Walter) who were running away from the ranch? Why would they not ask him: hey so did you end up catching Walter or did he get away? At least then they would know if he even escaped. I didn't know if this was a "plot hole" or not (if those even exist in true stories) but wanted to see what anyone else thought.

If you have seen the movie did this make any sense whatsoever or should i explain further?

Ok, I didnt read beyond where you said because I haven't seen the movie but I can already tell you what bothered me about it. The fact that every preview they'll show for the movie up until Oscar time will contain the already annoying line, "I want my son back!"

yeah, true that. im really sick of every trailer for every movie becoming "hollywoodized" with generic fast paced editing and cliche one liners that make the movies out to be something they're not. i was more interested in this film not as much from the trailer but more because i knew it was directed by clint eastwood and was based on a true story
