Default here is one of the set up job i did today for a customer

i ran all the wires, some under the baseboard, some over the ceiling for the clean look. Mount the projector, screen, help purchasing all the av equipment. The pay is quite nice, i'm hoping to have more job like this

When you turn off the lights, it does not matter.

and when you turn ON the projector, it DOES matter.

Although that room isn't "White" so it shouldn't be too bad.... especially if it's a flat paint.

looks great, i love doing installs. bet there is some serious corner loading on those speakers though. looks like the fronts might have some odd acoustics going on always remember, you should paint a theater with metallic silver in the highest gloss you can find

lol, thanks you, although i am in school for interior design, HT is where my love is and it pay very well.

The room is a gold color, my camera is what's up. I wish i could start from scratch but you know, when you're working for other's HT, chances are you will not have alot of say in the matter. After all, they are the one to come home everyday.

One thing - the speakers have to come out of those corners. Look is great - actual sonics - needs a little work. I see in one post that you are studying for Interior Design and there is a tendancy for these two worlds to crash head on. Usually estetics wins over audio (except when I'm involved - If I ever hired an Interior Designer and they tried to hide my speakers or to make my fireplace the center of attraction in my room - I'd have a fit! That's what gets me in these designing shows with HT's involved - first thing - lets get rid of the speakers and make them smaller (also decreasing dynamics, quality, ect. - in sound - size does matter). I've seen several of your HT's Yellow and you usually keep to sound audio rules - maybe it was your customer but I would definately pull those mains out from the corners. The center channel is also in that "small cave" that's going to create some delay issues. I would bring it closer to front.

P.S. What kind of speakers does your customer have pray tell?

You can buy dark ceiling tiles... and he should.

You can even get the grid in black as well but doubt he would do that or get the darker ceiling tiles for that matter.

Usually I can't say this but the seating in my theater is much nicer.

I agree, however it looks like if he did, it would intrude into/onto the screen. General rule of thumb is 3-feet from the corners, right?

Should look something like this..

...with the speakers toed in, or angled.

EDIT: Hmm, image won't show, even though I have the [IMG][/IMG] tags attached to the link..

I can't imagine the distraction of those ceiling tiles and grids rattling once the bass starts kicking in, especially with something like LOTR battle scenes.

Insulation and double layer of drywall keeps a room nice and sound proof.

I also agree that those speakers need some breathing room, or at least some acoustic panels behind them.

lol, you guys have no idea how much it bug me. I gave her enough lenght of cable to pull the speaker outward more. she planned to put some fake plant around the front.

Her speaker is the Flaunce 5.1 set Canadian speaker, i must admit, for the price those speakers sound quite alright. The center channel def need some help, i raised the db on the center up alot just to make it up with the left and right.

Actually I have a friend with a ceiling like that and the tiles are really snug. I thought the same thing til I helped him mount the projector and we couldnt pop the tile out without quite a bit of force
