Default Opinion for Xmas

I'm not trying to have my wife spend too much on me this Xmas for various reasons, so I've come down to 2 options:

Dark Knight + Iron Man + Transformers blu-rays

or

Dark Knight + a game (don't know which game yet)

Which would you choose?

If you pick the game option, what game would you go for? I'm very open to suggestions.

i'm a movie guy myself. but i also don't have time to play games the way i did 6 months ago. little ones take up a lot of time and my little 6 month old man likes chewing on cords so i try to keep them put away.

Can you give more information on the game option?

What do you have? What kind of games do you like?

Without that information I'd go with the Dark Knight + Little Big Planet. It's probably cutesy enough to get your wife involved.

I have:
Heavenly Sword
Uncharted
GTA IV
Lego Star Wars
Kung Fu Panda
Tony Hawk
NCAA 09
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Wipeout HD
Super Stardust

I've never been a big FPS fan, but I'm open to suggestion there as well.

I have kids, hence the Lego and Kung Fu Panda and also, I can relate to Benny on the time factor. I still get my games anyway.

if you want something the whole family can play.. Little Big Planet is awesome! My wife who never plays video games i enjoy (FPS) and only likes to play Lego Indiana Jones, well even she is hooked on it. My nephews as well, who are 8 and 10 came over this past weekend and couldn't put it down. Really addictive and insanely fun.

Movie and a game - the game will have a lot more "bang for your buck" as far as entertainment value (hours and hours, vs. 2 hours). LBP is a good family game - and, if it's too difficult for the kids, you can always just create an easy level.

You can always rent the other two movies you don't get - or wait till a birthday or Father's day to request them.

You should've gotten Ironman and Transformers on Amazon BF, that would've cost you a total of 24 bucks.

As for your question, I would get a game for the whole family, I recommend Buzz or Singstar, I play those with the fam all the time.

I would forget Iron Man and get a game.

I say that because, IMHO, Iron Man is way to similar, in both concept and many plot elements, to Batman.

Independently wealthy loner who was orphaned at a young age, with a secret and an adoring assistant who is the only one that understands him (albeit Alfreds character is now a female), cool toys, etc.

Even the intro is glaringly similar to the batman movies.

Another poster mentioned singstar - I recently read singstar PS3 mic is still proprietary - can't use Rockband/guitar hero/other mic. - which I find ironic, since Sony apparently forced crossgame peripheral compatibility the respective makers of those games.

I hear you on the Amazon BF but honestly any kind of shopping was not on my mind that day, so I didn't even check.

While I agree with you, I still like the Iron Man movie.

Well this is the PS3 forum =) so I'd have to say either TDK or IM and a game. What game is up to you.
