Default Unique experiences with your collection

Here are two scenarios I have experienced regarding my Blu Ray. Collection

1. I thought the Blu-ray movie annoying that was in my collection already .

2. Getting a Blu-ray in the mail and not remembering that I bought the movie and be happily surprised.

I once put the included DVD instead of the Blu-ray, and played 10 minutes of the film before thinking the picture was a bit soft. Honest true story right there.

Yeah I remember I bought Royal Flash twice by mistake. Sold the second copy on eBay.

- Getting a hankering to watch a particular movie in my collection, and then taking a good 20 minutes to find that movie in my collection bins.

- Friends or relatives who visit my townhouse, see the thousands of Blu-rays in my guest bedroom walk-in closet, and then give me a polite smile in the same sort of way that people smile at special-needs children in a public place.

Back in 2016, I was eyeballing the Nova Media release of A Bittersweet Life from Korea. My first time ordering from NM, and I found out rather quickly that I needed to place my order precisely when the preorder window opened in my timezone. And for a movie this good and rare, I planned to stay up as long as it took and place that order.

Had a complication though--it was the middle of the work week and I had to go report in on time for a specific reason (likely to open up the warehouse for a delivery or something, and I was probably the only one at the time who could do it). The pressure was on--I had to get my sleep and make it in on time so I wouldn't let people down.

But this was one of those movies I just had to have, and this was the edition to get. This was the time and place--I wasn't about to let the opportunity slip by. I turned in early. My alarm went off at 2:00 a.m. I shambled to the computer, placed my order, then slumped back into bed. A few hours later, work happened and goals were achieved. A few weeks later, the movie came in with its glorious lenticular slipcover.

Ah, the things I do for movies...

My collection once became sentient and hunted me for sport.

Shit, I thought "unique experiences" would be like that time when my CD player tried to communicate with me in a deep and meaningful way and not try to kill me in a I Come in Peace flying disc of death way ...

To be be honest, after the 3rd or 4th time you learn it's tricks and the entire thing becomes extremely boring.

I watched a movie from my collection once and laughed because it was a comedy and it was funny.
