Default Who would you want directing a Justice League movie?

With the recent news that George Miller was supposedly confirmed as off the Justice League project, then back on, and to the disappointment of many people that he was even approached to direct it, who would you feel comfortable handing the reigns over to should a Justice League movie ever enter major development (if without Miller)? Someone that has already directed a super hero movie? A newcomer to the genre?

nolan is unquestionably my first pick (although he would never do it), but i think alex proyas might do an admirable job. or for something truly epic maybe james cameron. i've always wanted to see him attempt a superhero movie, but he'd never do it either (even though i know he was in talks to direct spiderman)

George Miller is denying he's off the project. He's saying the news report saying he said he was off is false.

right, that's what i said in first post. i'm basically asking since it's such a large project to tackle what director do YOU think would be best to helm it (i definitely don't think george miller)?

My dream would be Chris Nolan tackling it but I highly doubt it so I guess Bryan Singer (I love Superman Returns) maybe James McTeige if they want to go darker (he directed V For Vendetta and was assiant directors on The Matrix and Speed Racer.) I don't really care who directs (unless it is Uwe Boll ) as long as it turns out good.

Bryan Singer. The guy who directed X-Men and X-2, not the guy who directed the piece of crap Superman Returns.

No one. This movie shouldn't be made.

It would have to be someone who can handle ensemble casting. I would say Steven Soderbergh if they could get him. I think he already has a contract with WB, and with his name you might be able to convince Christian Bale to sign on (even though he's said he's only Nolan's Batman). Maybe make Nolan an Executive Producer.

in all honesty i agree, but if it was up to you who would you want directing it?

also, if in the rarest of chances bale as batman and routh as superman did end up in the same movie instead of them recasting (i know this is never happening), you can't tell me you wouldn't be a least 1% excited if not just intrigued.

i like that exec producer idea a lot. get a director that can handle an ensemble cast and have nolan and maybe singer on as exec producers. if bale and routh were in it together i think it might be pretty cool, but still all in all an unnecessary movie.

I would love to have a big JLU animated movie. And please keep the voices from the show.

i remember when there was originally talk of that happening. it originally sounded as if george miller was going to direct a a primarily computer animated movie (so i guess not necessarily animated), but that changed over time and it was revealed that it would be live action blended with cgi (obviously).

I wouldn't be interested. Bales Batman is not the type of character who would or could work in a team. If they were to do one they should wait at least 7 years until the last Nolan Batman. He is not a JL Batman. The same with Routh's Superman but, to a lesser degree. I don't think the DC movie universe is ready for a JL movie. Mabye in a few years.

What's wrong with miller? I know his recent projects have been kids movies but remember this is the man who brought us mad max and the witches of eastwick. He's been in the business for decades I think he knows how to make movies.

i dont like him (as a director for this movie, not saying as a whole) because he was ok casting a bunch of young 20 year olds as superheroes, like an origin justice league story. i think that would have blown, but thats just me.

As long as the material is right and there is a strong enough story, I think Peter Jackson might be a good choice.

Are you serious??!!....then no way should they make this movie, I want the established "mature" heroes

Now the only question left is which will be better Avengers or JL??

Well in the cartoons of JL, batman isn't exactly a "team player" either

besides I'd cast Mathew Fox as JL Batman, he has the chin and voice for it

Oh and your right, you would need to establish Wonderwoman, Flash, Greenlatern and Martian Manhunter before the Justice League movie

I think only Greenlatern and Flash would be good movies though, the others should just be mentioned in other DC films
