Default Favorite Futuristic Movies

Who else here likes futuristic movies? What are some of your favorites? I think all the filmic interpretations of what the world will be like in 10, 20, 30+ years are fascinating, so I put a poll up with a list of ones I could think of, some might be considered good, some bad, but everyone has different tastes so I threw in a mix. Apologies if I have forgotten any major ones, but that's why there is space below to list your own. My criteria for the poll were movies that were supposed to take place in the future at the time they were actually released (thus why 2001 made the cut).

I'm not sure where I place the Star Wars/Trek films but I threw them in there too because i knew someone would complain about it if I didn't

Should've made this multiple choice, DoYouBlu. But there's so many futuristic movies on that list, it's hard to just pick one! I love every movie on the list, but since the poll isn't multiple choice, I picked Blade Runner.

yeah, i like a lot of them as well. multiple choice wouldve been a good idea, i'm hoping most people will try to narrow down to at least one of their favorites and then list others here

Was torn between the fifth element and the island. Flipped a coin and went with the island.

i don't count the matrix because even though there are futuristic aspects of it it isn't set in the future, although it is a science fiction film.
