Post Olin Ross 5.1?

I've never heard of OLIN ROSS surround sound before, but someone is offering my mom a 5.1 surround sound system from OLIN ROSS for $200... I'm not a home theater aficionado by any means... so any insight? I've never even heard of it.

Will the dirty details.
The talk man or passinger was the nicest guy.
So here is the scam. I was out running some local errands around town. All within blocks from my house. So I'm in my power wheelchair, criusing out of a local market parking lot and a nice white Dodge Magnum goes by and the passinger gets my attention by saying, "excuse me sir, this may sound like a strange question. Would you be interested in a home theater surround sound system?" Then they pull over and open the back end of the car where they have several large boxes. The printing on the boxes described hign end equipment. They go on to tell how their out delivering and installing home theater systems. As I look back I thought the retail price on the box was weird, 2495.00 msrp.
Then the passenger, who's name was Jason said that their boss had given them too many sets and didn't remember how many, so they were trying to get rid of them to people like me that deserved a break. Right a break to get ripped off. Jason even showed me some type of invoice with the price written on it. He even had an article about the system out of a magazine. Then after I showed an interest in the product, he told me he would even bring it to my house about 5 or 6 blocks away.
I headed home where I had some cash to take my daughter to Disneyland the following day. Upon arrival Jason was going to checkout my tv setup to see if it was compatible, of course it was. I even googled the model number and saw one for sale on ebay for opening bid of $400.00 and a buy it now price of $900.00. It wasn't til after they left that I scrolled down the google list and saw the scam alert on the internet.
The scam alert webpage indicated that the product sold for $24.95 from China, and that included shipping. There were hundreds of stories about being taken by this scam. Now there showing up on ebay and craigs list. I guess by people like me trying to make some money back.
Bottom line, it's like I got what I deserved. I knew in the back of my mind that something was wrong with this picture. They were preying on the greed of getting something for nothing. I didn't care if someone was being ripped off as long as I was reaping the benefit. I was lucky that I hadn't ageed to pay as much as some others had paid. What a fool. Let me know if you've run into this scam.
I wanted to add one thing to this little expose. This product and similar products seem to be produced with a scam in mind. What else would be the reason that the MSRP(which stands for manufacture suggested retail price) is printed on the box. It shows $2495.00. This to me seems like it's scam product from the beginning. I guess that would require a little more investigation. What's "60 Minutes", up too?

Bad idea! Why don't you get the license plate # on their vehicle (if it's a white van thing) and call the cops. It is illegal to do what they're doing in a few states.

Thanks so much, guys... good thing my mom didn't buy it. Well, she wouldn't have anyway, not without my OK... but good thing she checked with me! I had a feeling it was a scam, I was like... hmm... never even heard of that before.

My bro bought one off of a few guys for $50, he talked them down that much, lol. But yeah, it's a big scam, it actually happened to him again while he was driving in Tahoe recently, same sales pitch, 3 guys in a white van. He asked them if it was Olin Ross, and they got hella scared and took off

edit, I just talked to him and he said it actually sounds like a pretty quality system, and he's a long time musician so he knows what sounds good. I guess if you get it for cheap, it's not a bad deal

Good deal?!? White van speakers can destroy your receiver when their ohm current plunges to dangerous levels which could even set your receiver on fire.
