Default Lossless audio on my pc?

Is it possible to get lossless audio if I get a blu-ray drive? I know that lossless audio usually comes through hdmi, but is there a way to get lossless on my pc? I am getting a new projector, the epson 6100, and if I hook my pc up to it and get a blu-ray drive can I get lossless. I have an onkyo 606, so I am able to get it with a my panny dmp-bd35k, but I am wondering if I take that back to costco and get a blu-ray drive can I still get lossless. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, it is possible. As long as you have a decent onboard DAC chip, then you can use your multi channel analog outputs.

Alternatively you can get a HDMI soundcard that supports the new formats. There is a couple that I know of so far. One is yet to be released and the other has buggy drivers at this stage. I am still holding off until something stable is available...

Are there any current soundcards that wil decode lossless audio with no downsampling and output through the analog outputs? It needs to be PCI I can't get a PCI express ATM cause I have 2 GPUs running SLi.

Yes, both those cards I posted are capable of that. It will be your software that will be the deciding factor. As far as I know, ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre is the only Media Player that handles this correctly.

Most of the better Motherboards will have decent integrated audio that will also be capable of this. I have the GA-EP45-DS3P MoBo which has the ALC889A HD audio chip.

What are the multichannel analag outputs? Are those the green orange and black plugs that go into computer speakers? If I use those how would I hook it up to my onkyo 606?

yes those are the analog outputs. all you need are 3 or 4 Y adapters (which only costs a few bucks) and you're good to go. that's how I have my m-audio revolution 7.1 hooked up to my yamaha 663 and it sounds orgasmic.

This is one of the parts of the HD audio for pc that confuse me. Can I listen to HD audio(DTS-HD M or TrueHD) with a 2.1 pc speakers when playing a Blu-Ray movies. What will it take to fixes this. I know a few sound card will support (DTS-HD M or TrueHD) and will be out in one or two months.

i am getting loseless with powerdvd 8, since it's not supported by HW it's being decoded by software and then fed out of the sound card by analog connections to my 7.1 speakers.
my sound card is the audigy 2 ZS and i am using vista 64 enterprise.

Which adapters did you use? I'm not sure if a lot of the ones I'm looking at will fit.
