I have a lot of electrical cables in my room which makes it inevitable for the speakers wires to run side by side along them. Now I was wondering how much would it interfere and is that even audible if it's only within a bedroom?
ps.: At what high should I put my speakers? I usually align them with the top of my TV. thanks |

If possible, any kind of audio cables should cross electrical cables at right angles. If that isn't possible, try to minimize the length that the two cables spend parallel, and try and keep them some inches apart. You hear the effect as a 60hz hum, do a little experimenting.
I think most people line up the speakers under the TV, but if you prefer them above, that's okay. The recommendation is to keep the front Left and Right speakers between 40 and 60 degrees from your favorite listening spot, and keep them close to ear height, and also keep the front left center and right lined up horizontally. |

Thanks, but aligning all the speakers under the TV would put them below my ears which isn't right. The only speaker I'm probably gone put below and in front of my TV is the center speakers since it's too big to be mounted on the wall or be put on top of my TV (flat panel), but I think that should be OK.

If your speaker and signal wires must run parallel to power try and keep them at least 12" apart. That should not create any noticeable interference. When I'm wiring new construction that is how we do it, and have not had any call backs.

Thanks and are there other kind of cables that could interfere like HDMI or LAN cables?
