Yes i know what original aspect ratio is. Yes i know that it's the directors intent to shoot how he wants to shoot the film. 2.35 would look great on a 70" TV, black bars and all, but i don't have that.
I do have a fairly expensive television, and i'm not getting the most out of it. It doesn't make sense to me that shitty little TV shows would look a billion times better than a Blu Ray (that costs $35 bucks a pop). I'm simply looking for a program or plugin for a program that can zoom in and make the most use out of a 16:9 television, the standard HDTV, when using Blurays. YES i know that i will not be seeing the full epic-ness or whatever, but that's not how i see it. 16:9 is wide enough for my eyes, and i want it to be FULL 16:9. No wasted black bars. But all this doesn't matter, only one question. Is there a program or plugin that can zoom in, without distortions, on the picture so that an ultra widescreen movie will fill it up a standard HDTV? |

Yeah, i think i got just the right TV to have an awesome picture, but about 0 customability. If there is a way to can tell me more, it's a Sony Bravia 32" HDTV. And of course i've checked in all of the menu's, there's nothing that even hints at zooming.
Just now, because i'm using an internal bluray on my PC, i can use the overscan mode for the graphics driver i have (ATI 2400) to zoom a LITTLE bit, but not that much really. |

Sorry to say but, I really don't think a thing like that exists. I have not heard of anything like that. If you have searched the internet and have not found anything I bet its hasn't been made. Most TV's have a Full, Wide, Wide Zoom, and Zoom option under the picture settings. However these can distort the picture. If your TV does not have these settings and you want it zoomed you may have to get a new TV. Heh or invent this product.
