Help Please with old surround system - Blu-ray Forum

I have a surround system which was used for a Widescrean TV i had.
the system has 65 watts.
I wanted to know if i could use my old system for my current HDTV. I have a Sony 1080p LCD HDTV.

with my old sound system, how good of a sound quality would i get?
Would i need a new sound system for my HDTV/BLU RAY PLAYER?

Any additional info about this will be really helpful.

well there a few things that are needed to know to help you out. For example
1. does you system have hdmi in and out
2. if not does it have 5.1 direct channel in.
3. does your system decode DTS true HD
or master audio
thats just for starters I'm sure others will come along that can help you out even more.
