Default The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, for a limited time only?

So I just saw a commercial for The Mummy: TOTDE on TV, and it says that the movie is available for a limited time only. Anyone know why? Is Universal doing the Disney thing?

Maybe the seeling prices, a lot of time they have special prices on the first day or 2 and then bring it up again. Future SHop does this a lot here in Canada, maybe that what they mean?

The studios would be smart to adopt Disney's formula for their marquee titles. The major retailers have limited shelf space and each title has a short display window. I think Disney's 6-9 years is a bit too long but the concept is sound. Whenever they re-release a classic or not-so-classic title, it is greeted by retailers and consumers as a new release. The other studios have been constantly repackaging the same titles for renewed shelf exposure but I think it is creating diminished returns for the retailers and consumers are becoming much more savvy. We all know that the bulk of these re-releases offer nothing new and can usually be found at a discount in their former (and often better) packaging. The practice is back-firing and a new approach is needed.

I think they just mean the DIGITAL COPY because the same thing happened with Mamma Mia!

It is sort of a lie because the movie will be avalible but not the digital copy...

I thought the film was in trouble without Rachel Weisz.

It is any good at all?

It is really good. A lot of actions Of course, I miss Rachel Weisz but you can't have it all. Just like Katie Holmes not being in TDK did not stop you from buying it; you should not worry about Rachel.

Yes, it is the DIGITAL COPY that is for a Limited Time only. Got my advance copy that says so.

Hey, if anyone wants to know anything about a Blu Ray title before it gets release eg. region coding (if it is region free), or anything else, feel free to ask me. My retailer in Sydney, Australia gets U.S. Blu Ray Discs anywhere up to two weeks before the U.S. release date.
