Is this a good deal? 42" Panasonic 85u for $959. No tax and free shipping. I might buy one today.

That is a good price. The 80 u goes for around 775 on amazon - shipped. There is a difference between the 85/800. It's aesthetics and it's nice. The 800/850 series has a full sheet of glass over the front of the screen. Models 80/85 do not. They have a bevel, like a picture frame.
