Default Receiver for My System?

Blu-ray Guys,
Please help me pick a receiver. I’m setting up a modest, blue-ray, 5.1 home theater system. The speakers at this point are 2 Bose 301s in the front, 2 KLH rear speakers, a Klipsch KSW-10, and a Bose VCS-10 Center Channel Speaker. The TV is a Samsung LN-46A650T, and the blu-ray player is a Panasonic DMP-BD35K. We rent about a movie a week from Netflix. So, what receiver fits? Are there any “must change” pieces that would dramatically improve our blu-ray experience? Thanks for any and all constructive input.
Roger

crackinhedz,

Wow! What a quick response and good question! It's not real firm, but I was thinking up to $500. If a more expensive receiver would greatly add to the blu-ray experience when combined with the rest of my system, I would consider it.

id personally go for the Denon 2309 or the Pioneer.

(the Yamaha is also a great choice...my own personal taste is for the others)

It's possible you would enjoy non-bose speakers more.

But, if you're happy with them then that is all that matters.

That's the most diplomatic answer I've read regarding Bose speakers. And you are to be commended. I agree wholeheartedly...if you enjoy a certain speaker, then that is all that matters.

crackinhedz,

Thanks for the recommendations and coupons. Do the coupons only work at 6th Ave? The speakers I listed are just what I happened to have - some are very old. I'm just putting the system together now so I thought I'd use what I have for the time being. I'm thinking speakers are a matter of personal taste and at this point I have none.

Thanks again.

yes, they only work for 6ave.

They are authorized dealers, and no tax (except for NJ) + free shipping. And 30 day price match. Hard to beat!

I'd go with what Crackin suggested, as those are some great deals on good receivers.

On an unrelated note, you have any coupon codes for tv's at 6ave.com Crackin?

yeah, every once in a while the coupons don't seem to register...not sure if its a glitch or the system is down...give it time, it will work again.

As you can see, this is in their sales ad, 25% off.

Or just call them. They will adjust the price.

It worked long enough for me to order a Denon 1909, thanks a lot!

I'm even looking at buying the 2309CI for an upgrade. I looked at Sixth Avenue and I can get one for under $600 bucks! I usually go through amazon and they are over $100 bucks higher. Why is that???? Normally amazon is so much cheaper.
