Default What kind of car did you ALWAYS want growing up?

I was never a big fan of vehicles in general growing up.

But I ALWAYS WANTED a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder since the first time I saw one.

And with a little luck, I should have one soon with low miles

My father bought one of the new 2000s back when they JUST came out - a red V6 with beige interior, when i was in the 8th grade. My mother lost her rocker, and he exchanged it for a 2000 Galant instead...which stayed in the family until 04 when I got it and traded it in for a new 2004 Galant, which I drove for 5 1/2 years until I got my RS 10 months ago.

Oh, and the answer to your question is a BMW Z3. But then I grew to 6'2", and I said, Yeahhhh...No.

Dodge Viper. I used to watch the show, and then they actually made the car, and when it came out it was totally different than anything out there. I still love them.

^^^ Had a poster of a black one on my bedroom wall when I was 12. For me, Lamborghini > Ferrari.

The one car I always wanted sat in my neighbour's garage: a Datsun 240Z

It is the NSX for me. Definitely a huge fan of the car and I will have one someday.

I also fell in love with the 360 Modena when it came out in '99..It seems Ferrari just keeps getting better haha. The 430 was a great improvement and now the 458 is just drool.

When I was 16 & 17 my dream car was an Acura Integra back from 97-99. I didn't get one for my Junior & Senior year, but my dad let me drive his 95 Chevy Lumina. When I was a part time student, and full time worker. I bought an 02 RSX Type-S which is the successor of the Integra. Owned that car until 2005 and I still miss her.

Yeah... I was ALWAYS a big Lamborhini fan when I was a kid. My uncle had (and still does) a 25th anny Countach (1989) and I'm pretty sure the poster I had was a black one too!

He gave me a ride in his Countach one year, and I remember the smallest details about that to this day....

Uncle by marriage though.... I don't think I'm in the will

I loved the 97 Integra's..RSX is better though haha. At least you stuck with your gut and went with the newest model. I still want an RSX as a DD. '05-06 Type S. My '98 Accord DD isn't doing that well.

What's wrong?

I think all manual transmissions from Honda/Acura suffer from the 2nd gear grinding like it won't go into place smoothly as if you're going to 3rd to 4th gear. The RSX had that, and my TL has that too. I don't remember about the S2000 and the 2nd gear issue though since I only drove it a few times.

S2000 is mint..and shift beautifully...the Accord's tranny is an auto and 2nd gear is pretty much shot.

When I was a teenager (way back in the early 80s) I fell in love with Jaguars. Now I have 4 of them (bought them all used over the course of 20 years).

the 954 son!

i have two cars that i fell in love with.
1- ever since i was a child i always wanted a 1971-72 LT-1 camaro.
my pops had one that had gobs of work and was fast as balls.
love the tail lights, sound of a bowtie small block and the never changing smell of an old chevy interior.

2- in 1988 my parents bought a toyota supra turbo.
i'll never forget as a young buck my pops taking me & my bro out to an industrial area and dropping the hammer.
it was completely mindblowing.
he let me get in the driver's seat, smoke the tires and launch that missle.
I WAS HOOKED, from that moment i promised myself i would own one.

fast forward 8 years i bought a silver '91 supra turbo.
i spent all my money on j-spec and r&d parts, built the engine and added way more boost and nitrous than neccesary, and raced the hell out of it.

i know i've made several peoples butt pucker with all that power.
matter of fact donrsd is one of those people.

only lost one race to my co-worker with a '97 jap import rx-7 r1.
he had larger twin seq. blow dryers and 3mm apex seals amongst other things.
i had him by a car till i went to 3rd gear and he went to 2nd.
i will never forget him walking me and waiving as he passed me.
well what do you expect when he's shifting at 12 grand!
loved that damn car and it was stripped to the bone one day while i was working.

now that i'm older and slightly more mature i kick ass and get my grown man on in my Lexus GS430.

A white Lambo Countach.

My other car, which I almost had, was a 1969 Pontiac Tran Am convertible, white with blue stripes. It needed restored, but at 15, my dad would not help me tow it home. The old lady I mowed her lawn for was going to give it to me... for free. Her son died at a young age and she wanted to get rid of it.

Clearly you should have pushed it home.

Yup, another Countach lover here.

I also wanted an Acura NSX really bad. Almost bought one, but decided it would be smarter to buy a house, haha.
