Default Looks Decent...

"Theater Used as Toliet" ???----ERRR, you mean "Toilet" perhaps? ;-)

Anyway, I think this might be good or better than some may think. In Fact, I have 2 tix to see at the local IMAX (Prov., RI) this Sunday. Looks like a decent Action/drama flick with Keanu R., Jennifer Connelly, Jaden Smith (Will's son), & others. I haven't seen the original, well, probably YEARS ago I think (?), so with today's SFX this might be pretty decent. On the HUGE IMAX Screen, and with their 10,000 watt sound system , i'm sure hoping it is anyway!

One of my dream projects would be to make a remake of 12 angry men using 'little people'

1. SFX are not good in this movie. CGI overload and it isn't even good CGI.
2. Don't let a bad movie become good, just because of the equipment being used.
3. The film is confused on what it wants to be. Its one part preachy, one part action. The whole environmental issue that Klaatu is preaching about this time, does not carry the same level as urgency as the nuclear war in the first one.
4. The characters only barely resemble their predecsors. Barnhardt is the only one that stays close to the original IMO.

It would have to be with 11 little people and 1 regular person who plays the dissentor. That way the little people can band together against the normal person.

Maybe you can writeup a quick review of the pros/cons since you've seen it. I was intrigued at the thought of this movie, but would like to hear your review.

At least let there be a single review of the movie to be posted for before making assumptions. Unless you have seen this movie in its entirety and if so then state it.

yeah ill do that real quick

Pros
[Show spoiler]
- Keenu does resemble Rennie's persona as Klaatu. Keenu actually does a good job acting, its his script that makes the character suck.
-Cleese is good too.

Sorry, thats about it

Cons

- Flying Saucer has now, litterly become a big ball of CGI
- Gort is now also CGI. He looks CGI too, its not like Star Wars where you swear its not CGI at some points.
- Gort is huge, like 6 meters tall. Not just some 8ft. giant in a robot suit.
- Gort's behavior is so unlike the original Gort. Agile unlike the silent and slow moving original. He now can become like little metal bugs and crap and destroy stuff.
- Jayden Smith I didn't perceive him being the goody too-shoes kid like in the first, but he got on my nerves.
- Helen is the character I fight most inside my head with if I liked it or not. I couldn't imagine them making a movie with Helen being like in the original. She is def. a much stronger woman than the original Helen. There is no fainting in Gort's arms Ill tell you that.
- Environmental message instead of nuke one, doesn't provide urgency.
- Plot is muddled. Movie feels spliced between a Bay blockbuster and a preachy environment flick.
- Too much action for the movie. Klaatu and Gort came to issue a warning to mankind the first time around. This time, its kind of like how soon can we start destroying stuff and its not done well.
- Klaatu is a clone of a mountain climber too
- Klaatu has powers not seen in the original

"SPOILER ALERT"

When I read a review of most movies, the reviewer does so without pointing out Specific parts or "spoilers" for those who have yet to see that movie

Most people don't want to hear Exact parts or plot points of the movie Before seeing it.

just a thought for next time.
