Default Sony VAIO CS Series w/ Blu-ray

I'm wondering if anyone has a VAIO CS SERIES laptop? I know they're not the powerhouses, but they offer blu-ray capabilities on certain models, so I was wondering if anyone who has one might be able to offer some insight.

I am interested in getting a CTO...

Quote:
* Standard Battery
* Engraving
* QuickBooks Simple Start
* Windows Live OneCare 90-Day Trial
* Blu-ray Disc™ Read Only Drive
* 160 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [5400 rpm]
* LCD 14.1" WXGA+ (XBRITE-ECO™) with integrated video camera
* Video Standard
* Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8400 (2.26GHz) [Regular price $100]
* Microsoft® Works
* No Fresh Start
* WLAN (802.11a/b/g/n) with integrated Bluetooth® technology
* Sangria Red
* Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium 64-bit
* 2 GB DDR2-SDRAM (DDR2-800, 1GBx2)
I can get RAM at a good price, so I'll be upgrading that to 4GB...

Anything?

THANKS!

What connections?
Is there an HDMI port?
If so, go for it.
WXGA+ will be a bit low on res, but BDs will still look superior to a DVD.

mmm, it doesn't say if there's an HDMI port. I'll check on that... when you say "a bit low" is it a lot? hehe. Superior to DVDs, but will I be able to tell that it's blu-ray (if that makes sense)?

WXGA+ is 1440x900 - I think.
1920x1080 will look great on it, but it's still be a bit low on the res.

This laptop is 1440x900 - looks great!
Looks better on my other laptop with the 1920x1200 screen.
HDMI will allow you to connect a single cord to a HDTV and blast away at Full HD 1080.

What kind of video card? Intel card wouldn't cut it even if they offer Blu-ray laptop with Intel card.
You might want to choose X-Brite Hi-Color instead of X-Brite ECO for BD. Hi-Color has much better brightness and color reproduction. Worth the upgrade for playing BD.

Thanks for everyone's input... I ended up getting an FW series instead (specs listed in my signature)...

It ended up costing the exact same price it would have cost me to get the CR series because there were major sales on performance upgrades.
