Default Do you think Home is too early?

The other thread is really ticking me off.

This really has several options. There are people who think it could have come earlier (me) by a week or several weeks. There are people who think it should have come later by several weeks or months. etc.

The problem with the other thread is that it assumed that a lunch could be done with out any problems, and as much as problems frustrate me, they are a fact of online systems and cant be hashed out until they actually open the system to the peak loads (in this case millions of users a day).

Feel free to discuss Home here.

Feel free to discuss the opening of home on the 11th here.

Much better poll. I voted for the first option. That being said there isn't THAT Much yet in home. I would have liked to see the game launching app at least already there so it would have some extra function because as it is now it feels like more of a "game" than anything else. There's a few things to do but not enough to make me want to stay a while in it. If the game application launch was already installed I would definitely spend more time before / after I game.

50 cents for clothes is still too much ( just like 2 bucks for LBP is insane). What they need to do is release like a bunch of clothes for a certain amount. like maybe 10 pieces of clothing or more for 2 bucks*. Same for furniture etc.

The club and summer house for 5 bucks is also outrageous. if it came with furniture or stuff inside it would be worth it but as is , it's completely ludicrous to spend that money for that. On top of that , they should have released all if not a lot of the content that was on the beta for free for the new people as well.

I was also reading that there will be a recurring fee / month for the club which is even stupider. If that's the case, I want to see more than only 32 people being along to join. For large communities like ourselves it just won't happen. Give us more space or at least different "clubs" with bigger spaces. I'm sure they have a reason for the limit , but I don't think it's good enough. They can't really expect that many people to buy them and keep buying them if all you get is a private "room".

I'm happy with HOME and how it is now, it's a very good start. I want to see more content (trailers , etc) , I want to see more products to purchase for cheaper or in bundles , and I want to see myself being able to launch my games from inside HOME. I also would like to see the trophy room. I really need to see this before April 09.

To be fair it is still technically a beta. I'd say they should have waited until you actually had stuff to do in it. At the same time I understand nothing like this has ever been rolled out on this scale console wise.

The problems people have been having (I still haven't been able to log on to it, error 931 or something every time) says to me that they probably could have released earlier and these things could have been sorted out by now. A month after launch you will expect things to be running fairly smoothly, so if they had released a month ago maybe things would be better today. I'll probably keep trying over the weekend every now and then, but if I remain unable to ever get onto the thing I'll just lose any interest and not bother with it at all. Actually concentrate on playing games on the PS3 and watching Blu.

i think its going great so far. i did get kicked out a couple times, but its new and understandable. bowling is fun i think. i would like to see more games like shuffleboard and darts(i havent seen them yet) i would also love to have the condo bigger and customizable so i can throw a 150" plasma on my wall haha the only thing i would really love to see be done, is sony needs to advertise it. i really think a lot of casual gamers would enjoy this. and i think something like this is unique and fun and itll push some units, and i think everybody here would agree with me when i say sony could use alil more units sold.

I didn't even know it was released. Wrath of the Lich King was released and I forgot I owned a PS3.

Too soon? Probably not. At least now everyone knows there is a Home in development.

My vote was for other, I'm not an online fan, so I think this was a huge waste of resources. They could have put those people programming it to work on giving me a PS2 emulator for my 40gb PS3 instead.

For those that enjoy it, I hope it takes off, I personally just don't see much use for it.

Helloooooo. Havn't posted on here in a while.

I got Home on the 11th and havn't been able to sign in once. Keep getting that C-931 error. Not sure about US but it's quite common problem over here. If that error dosn't appear i get a message saying that the server dosn't exisit or that it has timed out. Home has launched too early IMO. We have been waiting nearly 2 years for it. You would think that's long enough for Sony to plan out some sort of decent launch plan. Worst thing is that they are pretty much keeping quiet on it. We need offical news on how things are going.

Wow how many threads does it take to say the "same thing over and over again!!!". THIS IS A OPEN BETA I know it may surprise the misinformed but that is what it is. If you have a PC and have been in any of a thousand betas you know that they do this all the time. Stress test are the norm for most mmo and the like and why would this be any different. Can we merge some of these threads so everyone can get the big picture here.

I put other as well. Having tried it it has even less point that I thought.

I too think they would have been better off scrapping Home altogether and putting the work into an actual game.

But then it's pretty clear that Sony doesn't really believe in releasing games this generation, just talking about them and how great they'll be (eventually) while releasing one a year or so.

To think that home is the cannibalization results from The Getaway....it makes me sad really to think what could have been.

I think it was the right time. I've found it pleasantly amusing actually.....although I also agree it was a waste of resources that would have been better spent programming actual games or emulators or something.

It still needs work on the character features. It needs more options with facial hair, goatees, sideburns, etc. IF they get those features also make it available to select more than one feature. As some mentioned too they expect us to pay $0.49 for a hoodie...come on now. The stuff should be free.

You know what they need is a way to make your character look like a sackboy now that would be an option that I would use my psn cash for

They really need more...well, more. They just need more. I'm sure it's coming, but so many people are only going to see it as-is and make their final verdict. First impressions are everything.

home should not exist. The development team for home could have done sometihng productive instead of wasting time to make a tiny area for people to go to that has no content.

OPEN BETA....OPEN BETA this is a open beta and most people "think" this is a finished product. It will evolve over the next couple of months and become an irreplaceable software addition to the ps3. Have more patients and play resistance 2, little big planet, and wipeout HD until the system is up and running
