Default I'm in need of a Photo Expert!

I don't take a lot of pictures and not very good ones at that either. My camera is decent and about a year or 2 old (Canon Powershot A710is).

I want to take some pictures to post on the site, but I have no idea how to go about adjusting the orginal resolution or file size to fit within the parameters of what's allowed.

I have Photoshop Elements 6.0, but have no idea how to use it.

If someone could help me out I would be most grateful. Thanks!

Hmm well I have photoshop 10 here at work, the way it should work should be
image->Image Size

Type your new dimensions and it will be scaled to that size, note image size and canvas size is not the same thing...

I hope that helps you out.

To adjust the file size go to File-Save for Web & Devices *it might just be called Save for Web.

A new window will pop up...

On the right panel are the settings you can play with, on your left near the bottom you will see Gif x kb or mb

Moving to a different file type will adjust the weight messing with the quality will either increase or decrease the file size then hit save.

If you need further guidance please ask and Ill do my best to help out.

The easiest way to update photos to put on the web IMO is to download the powertools picture resizer program from microsoft. All you have to do is right click the file and choose resize.

I have Photoshop 5 & it is a little diffrent...

Image > Resize > ImageSize - window pops up 'Image Size' In pixel Dimension you enter the pixel width/height or % of size... then your go through the save processes, sounds like it is the same.
