Default ARG! Need help with output settings for Sony BDP-S350!!!

So here is my dilemma that has been affecting me all night. I have a Sony BDP-S350 that I am trying to get connected to my TV because my PS3 just got the red blinking light of death or whatever they call it. This player was only used once or twice before when my wife borrowed it for her school one day to shoe a blu-ray movie. I was all pumped up to watch a movie tonight but instead have been battling this thing because it will not let me choose the HDMI option for the output. I have tried everything including being online with Sony support for about an hour. Nothing has worked! Only thing I can think of is that when my wife used it at her school, they hooked it up with component cables and somehow that has been reserved in the machine's memory bank and it has not been 'formatted' for HDMI. Is the only way to change it over to HDMI is to find the same TV that they used at her school and go and change it over at that point. That is my last remaining thought because nothing is working here at the house.

Any suggestions and hints would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Did they tell you to do a reset? Hold the stop button for ten seconds and all your user settings should be reset to default.

Yes....we tried that...someone also said to hold the power button for 10 seconds might help too, but not for mine. I googled a little about this too and it seems like others have had this issue too in the past two years. Unfortunately there were no mentions of ways to fix it.

I have come to the conclusion that for some reason that BD players just was not compatible with my Samsung or the Onkyo player. I took the player up this morning and connected it to my 40" Sony LCD and *BAM*....connected right through using the HDMI. Who knows....
