Default 2.0 from blu-ray

Hi everyone finally registered after reading around here for a while. I have a Samsung LN40a550 and samsung bd-p1500 blu-ray player. However i still haven't upgraded my audio yet. I've noticed on some movies that there is a very wide range in volume between music and dialog. I'm just wondering if this is due to it trying to play 5.1 sound track through a 2.0 system. My setup is an old Yamaha amp with Mission M71 speakers (which i love).

thanks

are you connecting the bluray player to the Yamaha with an optical cable?

you can try turning Dynamic Compression "ON" in the BD-1500 settings.
