Default powerdvd ultra Blu-ray issue

hey so i'm a little new to this so bear with me.
ya so i just bought a dell laptop that can play blueray disks. unfortunatly the program that came with the system (directmedia) is unable to read the newer blueray disks. so i decided to look for an alternative program and got powerdvd ultra. now this program can run my regular dvd's fine, however when i try to run stepbrothers on blueray i get brought up to the main menu that displays the options to play movie, scene selection, ex. i just cant click on any of them, the option is not there, nothing happens. plz help me

alright so i have another problem now.
what i've been trying to do is run my blueray movies off of my laptop onto my lcd tv. my graphics card is hdmi compatible so i'm hooked up through hdmi to hdmi. when i try to play a dvd on powerdvd ultra every thing runs smoothly on the lcd, however when i try to play a blueray the movies frames per second are to low.

is there a way to fix this?
