Yeah, I usually stream something for a few minutes if I'm bored and at my computer, like Surrogates a few minutes ago, but seeing Rosie Pike in it, I just threw it in my DVD queue

I use the Watch Instantly a good amount, so this is good news! I usually use it for older stuff or TV shows that I'll watch when going to bed, but I wouldn't mind having some newer comedies available, especially if they come in HD

First Roku, then StarzPlay and then Epix--
Looks like NFS is trying to legitimize the untamed frontier of streaming download, and absorb it in under one experienced corporate roof.

Which is good, as they at least have a hard-disk rental to fall back on, know what the rental market wants, and don't have to worry about pushing the download industry to the mainstream whether they want it or not--Just offer it as a side bonus, with a little bit of respectability and polish.
Sort of like when we were glad there was only one satellite-radio company again.

No HD movies in the streaming deal though, which is a bummer.

This confirms my long-held suspicion--Netflix wants to dump envelopes all together. (No secret there.) IMO this is BS, mainly because HD options are limited and inferior to Blu-ray. It's fine for the odd documentary or old TV show, but there's a reason I spent a bunch of money on my HDTV and 5.1 audio.

I think you're getting upset over nothing. Netflix is not even close to dropping their physical media rentals, so you don't have anything to be upset about right now. And frankly, this one announcement of expanded content for instant streaming doesn't inch them any closer to doing so.
