Hi, I just recently made an order in for Amazon. I ordered 3 Blu-Ray movies. I have a double charge on my Bank Account. WaMu said since it's pending there's nothing they can do about it. But the lack of English speaking (Very hard to understand) said something about authorization charge, I only got charged once and then an authorization charge, that I will receive back. But why is there two $41.99 charges? Is there normal with Amazon for new accounts, to charge an authorization charge for the price of the product. The idiot on the phone said there's only one $41.99 charge, but yet there's two. I could not get him to understand that there two charges for $41.99. I can see the $1 authorization charge for my Amazon Prime Account. But can someone explain to me what is going on and what I should be doing. I am 18 and still learning this banking stuff. Is the language barrier causing me to not understand something the person from Amazon was saying?

Alright I will do, is this a first time charge or will they continue to to do this? Because since it's equal to the product I ordered. When it comes time to ordering my TV (If there the best price), I don't want any overage charges. Just seems odd, since I never had this when I ordered from NewEgg or any other online retailers. Now, I have had $1 charges. Witch I do see a $1 charge for the Prime Account, only authorization charge I see. But I am going to go by what everyone says and watch it. Just when seeing two $41.99 Pending Charges scared me, when there should be one. But if all goes as said, I will continue to order from them.

I have made hundreds of orders from Amazon over the years and they have never wrongly billed me. As others said they do initially place an authorization charge to see basically if your credit card can really handle the charge, but it disappears and is removed in 24 hours typically.

Yes, my very first order through them. Also it was debit and not credit. WaMu was bought out by Chase, IDC if WaMu collapses, money is backed by FDIC. I know allot of people in my area pulled there money out.

Yes, the second $41.99 pending charge is gone! That was scary for me, since I never seen an Online retailer do that, well for no more then $1. But Amazon is on my good list and my Movies will be here tomorrow. I decided to do the Prime trail, I will place another order in a week or so. As far as I am concerned, best prices around for Blu. This is just an update for the curious.
