Good to see another company sign up. Though it does concern me that so many Hollywood movie companies have signed with HD-DVD instead. I wonder why this is when almost all the major manufacturers/consumers seem to prefer Blu-Ray. :?:

Yeah, same here

To the companies who support HD-DVD: WE NEED THE CAPACITY!

15 GB single layer (and no recordable double layer version!) is far to small. (thinking about the future)

Actually, it would be good to see lots of anime on a new and higher-resolution format.

It is a good move for Bandai to do so. Yeah sure they ONLY have 480 anime programs but this should be also good for people who usually buy Anime on DVD (well except for costs unless Blu-ray disc manufacturers know how to cut costs).

HD-DVD really lacks storage and almost all anime shows have lots of episodes (some even have over 500 episodes or more such as Inu Yasha, Detective Conan and others).

By using Blu-ray discs for anime, people get more episodes on their discs and that brings more satisfaction, enjoyment and value for money to many Anime fans (even myself).

So Bandai Visual is the first Japanese anime company to join the Blu-ray bandwagon. I hope that Pioneer's anime division (Pioneer LDC) and other anime companies, will join the association as well.
