Default Speaker inputs

On the back of my speakers, there are four inputs. In the manual is just says bare wire with jumpers and it shows to inputs, one on top and one on bottom being used. Then there is bi-wire, where both are being used. I just want to run one cable not two per speaker. I don't get what this is.

You have to run two wires. One from the positive terminal on the receiver to the positive binding post on the speaker, and one from the negative terminal on the receiver to the negative binding post on the speaker. Just use the primary pair of terminals on the receiver, not the ones to bi-amp. And don't worry with bi-wiring.

Bi-wiring or bi-amping is different, don't worry about it. Run it to the set of binding posts it says to use when you are not bi-wiring, and don't remove the gold connector plate from the posts, either.

What receiver/speakers are they?

On the picture it shows using one on top and one on the bottom. I should just run the positive one and negative one on the top then? and forget about the bottom ones?

What speakers are they? Yes, you should just run to one set of black/red terminals - but I am unsure if they would be the top or the bottom ones.

My Totems are recommended to be connected in a crossover pattern...Postive/Red on Top, Negative/Black on Bottom.

I've tried the reverse and it works the same.

More importantly, and like JJ said, keep the supplied connectors in place.
