BD releases from other countries - Blu-ray Forum

I did a search on "Pulp Fiction" a few days ago and I have noticed that this title is available on Blu-ray in France. Does that matter or should I wait for the US release? Also, why is it that a typical US movie would be available on Blu-ray in a foreign country before it is available in the US? Can anyone shed some light for me on this? Thanks much...

Different studios sometimes have rights to the same film in different territories.

For example, "American Psycho" is Lionsgate in the US, but Sony in AUS. This resulted in the AUS release being superior to the US release.

There's plenty of threads here discussing the different releases of titles all over the world.

Thank you! I am still new on this whole Blu-ray technology and procedures. By the way, you've mentioned that the Australian release of "American Psycho" is superior than the US release, but how do we know in advance which release to get?
