Default For owners of Panasonic PZ800

Hi guys. I thought I would post about a problem i'm having with my new tv and get some thoughts and opinions from others. I know there's a lot of collective expertise on this forum!

I purchased a new 42PZ800 about a week and a half ago. It now has approximately 150 hours on it, most of which has been with the break-in dvd available at AV Forums.

For blu-ray movies this set is spectacular; i have it connected to a PS3 via a Monster HDMI cable. I have no complaints about the picture other than that the 48hz introduces a lot of flicker and is unwatchable, but i'm not concerned about that at all.

My problem is with the way it seems to handle motion in ps3 games. For example, in Metal Gear 4, Valkyria Chronicles, Playstation Home, etc any quick camera movements result in a lot of blurring and 'lag' in the image. Background objects like buildings and trees with almost flicker on and off, become smeared, and there will be duplicates of the original image in the trail of the original as it moves.

Does anyone else experience this issue? It was my understanding that one of the main advantages plasma hold over lcd is a lack of motion lag, etc.

Anyway, I'm interested in your thoughts!

Thanks

So no one else is noticing this problem? How about on other Panasonic plasma sets? On other brands of plasma?

I wonder if i just have a faulty set

first I have to ask, did you calibrate the TV yet?

also, I do believe I have heard others mention a lag when playing games on a plasma...not sure if this is just inherent (phosphor trail) or if the TV is at fault.

I have not played any games on my Plasma/PS3 yet...so I cannot help you in that department.

i'd like to say i use my tv for games a lot. and for that reason i got an lcd. on top of that though, my tv is only 32". but that's besides the point. i'm sure others will chime in, though, how their tvs produce no such effect.

It's a 60hz TV. I was wondering if it was a typo of some-sort.

the PZ800 and PZ850 can play at 48Hz.

set the bluray player to 24fps.

Have the same set and have been playing Wipeout HD for several days now. No issues. The quality of the picture is just stunning. Forgot just how good plasma is. DOWN WITH LCD!
