Submit your predictions or educated guesses although the nominations have not been announced as of yet. If you don't have a guess in certain categories leave them out.

Here's mine:
Best Picture: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Best Director: Danny Boyle, Slumdog Millionaire
Best Actor: Sean Penn, Milk
Best Actress: Meryl Streep, Doubt
Best Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger, The Dark Knight
Best Supporting Actress: Kate Winslet, The Reader (edit)
Best Animated Feature: Wall-E
Best Make-up: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Best Screenplay: Simon Beaufoy, Slumdog Millionaire

Remember when we all thought "The Green Mile" was going to sweep the Oscars, because, like, it had Tom Hanks in it, and the director had done that other King prison movie, and like, it was all sentimental, 'n stuff?
And then you actually watched the darn thing?

Hence the term pre-Oscar-watchers refer to as "Green Mile Syndrome".
And if Button ain't a big whopping overpromoted can of GMS, I don't know what is.

(At this point, I'm taking back everything I said about loopy Pixar-obsessed LA voters wanting to see "Wall-E" nominated...
Right about now, with the other nominees we've got, I'm not only expecting it, I'm actually looking forward to it.)

This is my opinion, most won't agree but whatever
Best Picture: The Dark Knight
Best Director: Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight
Best Actor: Mickey Rourke, The Wrestler
Best Actress: Marisa Tomei, The Wrestler (Only real strong leading actress performance I've seen)
Best Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger, The Dark Knight
Best Supporting Actress: Evan Racel Wood, The Wrestler (Only had a short amount of screen time but her performance was powerful)
Best Screenplay: The Dark Knight
Best Animated: Wall-e
Best Special Effects: Iron Man
Best Make Up: The Dark Knight (The Joker/ Two-Face)

I agree with all of that except I would change best actor to Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler, and best supporting actress to Viola Davis in Doubt.
